Title:- The Hunt Begins

The morning sun barely broke through the dense canopy of the jungle, casting long shadows over the secluded house where Chandramukhi and Arjun had taken refuge. The air was thick with the scent of wet earth and the distant calls of wild animals. Inside the humble home, Chandramukhi sat by the window, her gaze lost in the green expanse, her thoughts far from the safety that surrounded her.

**"We can't stay here forever,"** she murmured, her voice tinged with worry.

Arjun, who was preparing a simple meal, looked up at her. **"We won't have to,"** he assured her, though his heart weighed heavy with the knowledge of the dangers that lay outside. **"We'll stay until it's safe, and then we'll find a way out of this."**

But even as he spoke, Arjun knew the truth. The net was tightening around them, and it was only a matter of time before Vikramaditya’s men discovered their hideout. He had seen the smoke from the distant villages, heard the distant shouts of soldiers as they searched for any trace of Chandramukhi. The ruthless king was relentless, his obsession growing with each passing day.

**"Arjun,"** Chandramukhi's voice pulled him from his thoughts. **"Thank you... for everything. I don’t know what I would have done without you."**

He met her gaze, his heart aching with the unspoken words that lingered on his lips. **"You don’t have to thank me, Chandramukhi. I promised to protect you, and I will. No matter what."**

The unspoken feelings hung in the air between them, heavy and unresolved. But before either could say more, a noise outside the house caught their attention. Arjun stiffened, moving quickly to the door, his hand instinctively reaching for the hilt of the small dagger he carried. Chandramukhi’s heart raced, her eyes wide with fear.

Through the small window, they saw a group of soldiers passing by, their armor glinting in the sparse sunlight. Arjun held his breath, silently praying they wouldn’t be discovered. The soldiers moved slowly, scanning the area with sharp eyes, but after a few tense moments, they continued on, unaware of the two pairs of eyes watching them from the shadows.

When the soldiers were finally out of sight, Arjun released a breath he didn’t realize he had been holding. **"We need to be more careful,"** he whispered, turning back to Chandramukhi. **"They’re getting closer."**

Chandramukhi nodded, fear still gripping her heart. **"Do you think they’ll find us?"** she asked, her voice trembling.

Arjun hesitated, not wanting to lie to her. **"I don’t know,"** he admitted. **"But we’ll be ready if they do."**

Back in Vikrampur, the palace was in turmoil. Vikramaditya’s rage was palpable, his temper flaring with each passing hour that Chandramukhi remained missing. He stormed through the halls, barking orders at his soldiers, demanding updates on the search.

His sister, Rajeshwari, watched him with growing concern. She had always known her brother to be stern, but this obsession with Chandramukhi was something else entirely. It frightened her to see him so consumed by anger and pride. She couldn’t shake the feeling that this would end in tragedy if someone didn’t intervene.

**"Brother,"** she ventured cautiously, approaching Vikramaditya as he stood by a window, staring out at the kingdom below. **"Is this really necessary? She’s just a girl... maybe she’s frightened, lost... maybe—"**

**"Enough!"** Vikramaditya’s voice was cold as steel. He turned to her, his eyes blazing with fury. **"I will not be made a fool of, Rajeshwari. She defied me, and she will pay for it. I don’t care how long it takes, I will find her, and she will be mine."**

Rajeshwari recoiled slightly at the intensity in his voice, but she didn’t back down. **"And what if she doesn’t want to marry you? What if she hates you for this?"**

Vikramaditya’s expression darkened. **"She will learn to obey, just like everyone else."** He turned away from her, dismissing her concerns with a wave of his hand. **"Now leave me. I have more important matters to attend to."**

Rajeshwari left, her heart heavy with the knowledge that she had failed to reason with her brother. She knew she had to do something to help Chandramukhi, but she wasn’t sure what. The palace was filled with spies, and any move against Vikramaditya could be seen as treason.

That night, as the jungle fell silent, Arjun sat outside the house, keeping watch. The events of the day had left him on edge, but he knew he couldn’t afford to relax. Chandramukhi’s safety depended on his vigilance.

His thoughts drifted to the time they had spent together as children, playing in the gardens of her father’s palace. She had been so full of life, so full of joy. And now, to see her so scared, so uncertain... it broke his heart.

He wanted to tell her how he felt, how he had always felt. But this was not the time. Right now, his only concern was keeping her safe. He could worry about his feelings later, when they were far away from Vikramaditya’s reach.

But even as he tried to focus on the task at hand, Arjun couldn’t shake the feeling that time was running out. The shadows were closing in, and soon, they would have to face whatever fate had in store for them.

Far away in the palace, Raghav stood in his darkened chamber, his eyes fixed on a map spread out before him. His fingers traced the lines of the forest where Chandramukhi was hiding, a wicked smile playing on his lips.

**"You can’t hide forever,"** he whispered to the darkness. **"The king will have his bride, one way or another."**

With a flick of his wrist, he began to chant in a language long forgotten, calling upon powers that should never be summoned. The air in the room grew cold, the shadows deepening as the dark magic began to take hold.

**"Soon,"** Raghav murmured, his voice barely more than a hiss. **"Soon she will be ours."**

---

As the night wore on, the tension in the jungle grew thicker, the darkness more oppressive. Chandramukhi and Arjun remained vigilant, knowing that the dawn would bring with it new challenges, new dangers. The hunt had begun in earnest, and the shadows of destiny were closing in.

But in the heart of the jungle, surrounded by the ancient trees and the secrets they held, there was still a glimmer of hope. A hope that, somehow, they would find a way out of this, that they would survive the storm that was coming.

And as the first light of dawn touched the horizon, Arjun knew that whatever happened next, he would be ready. For Chandramukhi, he would face anything.

Even the wrath of a king.
